TAFC Development team 4-0 Bracknell Town Reserves

TAFC goals: Clem Asante (2), Frankie Hercules, Lewis Dwight
Having lost 4-3 to todays opponents as recently as last week we hoped to reverse the result.

We changed to a 4-2-1-3 and playing up hill into a strong wind we managed to create our own problems. It was hard enough to get in the game without poor decisions on passes, failure to head a ball etc etc. On the plus side Matt Stacey marshalled the back 4 and played an efficient offside trap.

We hadnt really troubled Bracknell Town when on 20 mins Prince Nimoh started a mazy run down our left hand channel which resulted in a penalty. Frankie Hercules stepped up but their custodian made a decent save but Frankie kept calm and slotted in the rebound. Score 1-0

Within 5 mins a corner routine finally worked although aided by the breeze which held the ball up and Clem Asante nodded home. Score 2-0

We continued to improve and although to pick out individuals is harsh Will Mullarkey and Matt Stacey were outstanding at the back and Will Foley in midfield. The 2 lads from the U18s Tom Withers, on his first start, and Taylor Goodly were steady. Up front Clem Asante, Frankie Hercules and Prince Nimoh kept their back 3 playing long.

Ross Hazel after 7 months out understandably started slowly but improved to get in a good 45 mins and at left back Les Barkers-Obua improved as the game went along.

Playing down the slope we started to look more like the team we can be with distribution from keeper David Saunders, who was again very reliable, keeping our opponents under pressure.

After 20 mins Matt Stacey played Will Foley down the line, he played in a sublime cross (I was speechless) and Clem Asante guided in. Score 3-0

The strength of our bench was shown when Will Salmon and Joe Naylor were introduced. With 20 mins to go Lewis Dwight was introduced for Clem and having refused one shot he swept home a tidy finish to seal the game. Score 4-0

Evan Anderson,on his return from 11 weeks out looked comfortable and Luke Cesterone as ever sealed up midfield for the last 15 mins.
