MATCH REPORT

10 OUT OF TEN AS THE JUGGERNAUT ROLLS ON

Dictionary definition of juggernaut a huge, powerful and overwhelming force. And this is how we must have appeared to Eynesbury. We just kept on coming at them patient, remorseless and, in the end, unstoppable. We had to wait 70 minutes for the breakthrough but another very strong second half performance saw us through against a decent, well organised side which looks set for a top six finish.
Their keeper was in fine form in the first half, saving spectacularly from a Max free kick and also from Dash after a great team move. Our keeper was not to be outdone by his opposite number, making a trade mark Charlie leg save to prevent them from scoring. In fact Charlie was (once again) faultless throughout.
Goalless at half time and we really upped the pressure in the second half. Dash went near with a header and Jake smashed in a shot from close range which was cleared off the line.
When you are on top but cant score you wouldnt think it a great idea to take off your goal scoring centre forward so respect to the management team for, in the 65th minute, they bravely swapped Dash for Frazer who immediately made an impact with his strong, aggressive running. And finally, in the 70th minute, the breakthrough came when, from a corner, after a slight misjudgement by the keeper, Jake rose high and headed in capping another fine display from this highly talented and versatile young man. Whilst on the subject of naming high performers, Jay was outstandingly immaculate. What a tough, composed centre back we have with great game management skills.
It wasnt long before we got our second to put the game to bed. Max, our dead ball specialist (who had a fine game finding space all over the pitch and dictating our forward play) fired one in from 30 yards, which took a slight deflection to wrong foot their keeper.
So, we have now matched last seasons achievement of ten wins on the bounce. We sit proudly at the top of the table, clear by 5 points and rightly have been awarded the September Team of the Month Award. But we are only a quarter of the way through the season and have plenty of challenges ahead, starting with an away trip to London Colney on Tuesday and then we get a break from league action with our FA Vase match v Woodbridge on Saturday which promises to be a humdinger. We need your support!
Finally congratulations to Louie Collier for gaining the September Player of the Month. Good luck back at Kings Langley Louie. We hope to see you back before long!
