Mike Bidmead Suburban League Cup 3rd Round
TAFC Development team 4-0 Redhill

TAFC goals: Liam Gorman, Teddy Paul, Tom Shaw, Joe Naylor
Suburban League Challenge Cup. Tring Ath.Res (0)4 Redhill Res.(0)0

On a truly dreadful day I'd like to thank those who worked hard to ensure the game was played with the co-operation of the officials who managed the game well.

Against game but limited opposition it was important to exercise the ghost of last weeks performance out of our system. Our cause was not helped by 2 players pulling out at unacceptably short notice.

Playing up hill and getting the ball out wide we created a number of chances whilst Redhill did well on the break and were unfortunate when they hit the cross bar at 0-0 after 20 mins.
Generally though we looked in reasonable control without being able to apply the finishing touch.

Playing down the slope we used the spaces out wide to put Redhill under pressure and after 15 mins Liam Gorman scored his first goal for Tring. Score 1-0

A proper squad performance earned our place in the quarter final home to Walton & Hersham with further strikes from Teddie Paul, Tom Shaw, who was excellent in the second half, and Joe Naylor.

Custodian Luke Midwinter, in his last game before starting a career in the Police, was assured and we had our first clean sheet of the season.

To date the including of several of Cliff Herculess U18 Tring Athletic squad has given us options and improved the quality of football played.
