Spartan South Midlands Premier Division
Arlesey Town 0-2 TAFC First team

TAFC goals: Leo Farruch, Godlove Oppong
4 IN 8 DAYS? NO SWEAT!

Our young players faced the daunting prospect of a fourth game in eight days, although judicious team selection meant that most, if not all, had been given some rest within this hectic (and surely unwise from the leagues side) schedule. Todays team selection did have the appearance of being somewhat lightweight but the group belied this impression with a mature, highly professional work over of Arlesey.

The first half was not eventful, with the match having a distinct end-of-the- season look to it. The hard pitch made good football difficult. Nonetheless, we looked the better side and certainly had the better chances.

We were in complete command in the second period. A fine goal from Leo Farruch gave us the lead. Godlove came on as a substitute and within minutes pounced on a keepers mistake to net the second. Game over and three points secured, and a well-earned rest until next Saturday.

Mention must be made of emergency signing Michael Underwood, a fine custodian at the club a few years back. He answered Ryans desperate call, with Jakes absence, and belied his years with a solid performance. He should be justifiably proud of his clean sheet.

Team: Michael Underwood, Harrison Cornick, Jack Stevens, George Carberry, Adam Sawyer, Elijah Hearn, Leo Farruch, Ronan Hutchins, Ali Mohuiddin, Adiel Mannion, Charlie Miller.

Subs Used: Reilly Churchill, Godlove Oppong
