OVERRUN BY THE HARES

This was a poor performance. Lets be honest, we were smashed smashed by a highly capable Harefield side, with a potent attacking threat which will pose problems for all clubs in this division.

We started brightly and, in fact, in the first twenty minutes Ollie Butler had three shots on target, one of which would have resulted in a goal had it been a metre either side of the goalie rather than straight at him.

But this action was deceptive as Harefield were already looking dangerous. Goals came at regular intervals, direct from a corner in the 22nd minute, a shot in off the post after 30 when we had spurned the opportunity to clear our lines, 70 minutes again from a corner and then finally a 25 yarder in the 88th minute which simply flew into the net, with David Saunders
flapping in thin air.
We played some nice football at times and did create some chances, the closest we came to scoring was a shot from Cameron Brookes which clipped the crossbar. But Harefield were always dominating, always in control.

Rather than look back on last nights match, Id prefer to turn the focus on our next two matches which give the lads the opportunity to show their bouncebackability, their resilience. A really tough derby match against Leighton will test their resolve as well as their quality. Its up to everyone, players, management, supporters to pull together and to produce a performance to be proud of. The following Tuesday, versus a struggling Dunstable Town, is, on paper, a winnable game.
