Edgware Town 4-1 TAFC First team

TAFC goals: Joe Chott
On a strange looking 3G pitch we were undone initially by a strange reading of the offside rule by an Assistant Referee and an individual mistake by keeper Johnny Pitts who dropped a routine corner.

On 17 minutes after an even start an Edgware Town forward dropped back from an offside position and although the ball didn't reach him he forced Garejth Terblanche into a poor header which our opponents took advantage of.

On 26 minutes our custodian dropped a routine corner to allow a simple header from 2 yds.

For once it was us who acted quickly when Gareth Terbanche set up Joe Chott, who had already produced a couple of decent crosses, to finish from 15 yds.

At half time the game was still in the balance but on 48 mins from a corner which was headed away 2 defenders played their forward on side and he touched in from 5 yds.

With yet another mountain to climb we huffed and puffed but never really strung much together in the way of pressure or chances

On 64 mins a similar goal but this time from a ball from a wide position again resulted in a 4th goal. Everest looked small compared to the task facing us.

As our opponents dropped off we had a bit more of the play but apart from a cameo from Connor Goodliffe we produced little.

A disappointing performance and afterwards the players were asked to take a long hard look at themselves which we as a Management Team do after all games.

Apologies to those who made the awkward trip to support.

We move onto Leighton Town on Tuesday looking to get over this bitter disappointment.
