TAFC First team 0-2 Baldock Town
We came into our last home game of what has been a very ,very long 2020 in reasonable form but lost our leading goalscorer Ollie Butler, to shin splints. A blow in itself this was exacerbated by our second choice moving clubs this week and his replacement ,Mesach Hendrickson, picked up an injury on Thursday at training.

Playing up the slope we knocked the ball about well and worked hard . Ronan Hutchins showed plenty of quality on the ball and apart from the odd individual mistake we looked relatively comfortable. The issue was we weren't working their keeper.Baldock Town played a defensive shape and they in turn created very little.

On 25 mins a Baldock Town long throw was deflected in to put us on the back foot. The game resumed its course with us working hard and Baldock keeping us at arms length.

Playing down the slope we introduced Callum Shortt at half and with in 10 mins we at last penetrated their penalty box but again failed to work their keeper. On 60 mins Will Foley was introduced and a peach of a cross should have been converted at the far post by the normally reliable Joe Chott. Our opponents were now on the back foot but defended well and played balls into good areas.
A header from a corner which should have been converted raised our hopes before on 80 mins we conceded a second from a cheap corner when the ball was struck firmly home from the edge off the area. James Young was introduced for his debut and James Butler pushed up from but the visitors took all 3 points.

This was yet another one of those games where the more experienced opposition proved to be just that bit too much for ourselves.

We move onto Newport Pagnell next Saturday.
