LOUIES DOUBLE TAKES US EVEN FURTHER CLEAR AT THE TOP

Let me take you back to 2013. I am reffing Dacorum District U13s and the stand-out player is a little midfielder called Louie dominating and scoring. This lad is going to be good. Fast forward 6 years and I am watching a slightly bigger Louie putting in a dominating and scoring performance for us. Same old, same old. Just one request Louie stay with us for the season, its going to be a cracker!
Bogdans nomination for MOM is, unsurprisingly, Louie. Not mine! Mine is Phil Lowen. The phrase efficient and effective was made for this guy. We thought Riddick was a quality act last season in the win it, give it role but this guy is even better. Makes it all look so simple and never a hair out of place, but his value to the team is immense.
We put in a patchy first half performance in which the only winner was the wind. The management team was getting increasingly frustrated as we couldnt get our passing game going. Orans game was a mixture of brilliance and howlers but three times he put in tantalising crosses which no-one got on the end of. Our match report would not be complete without the phrase, Charlie saves with his legs and he did so in the 10th minute to deny the centre forward in what turned out to be Arleseys only decent attempt at goal. So, despite a lot of huffing and puffing we went in at 0-0 to a nice pleasant half time conversation with the management!
I have a lot of sympathy for the lads as the blustery conditions were making good football almost impossible. Whatever was dished out at half time, it probably wasnt sympathy but it worked.
Second half a complete turn-around, as predicted by this writer. Within 15 minutes we are two up and game over. First goal, at last an Oran cross is on the button, Dash crashes a header against the post and Louie nets the rebound. Two minutes later, a lovely team goal, with Louie latching on to a Dash pass and netting.
We had chances to increase our lead a Tommy header, Luke hooking over and Connor Blake blazing over from 10 yards when all set for his first goal for the first team, and we looked untroubled at the back with commanding performances from an increasingly resilient back line.
So, after a run of eight straight wins, we are now six points clear although this is slightly misleading as Colney Heath have a 100% record and three games in hand. Around the same time last season we had 10 consecutive wins which was a club record. Come on lads we can beat that. Premier Division Team of the Month for September? Without question.
