A DASH WONDER SHOW LIGHTS UP THE LANE

We have had some great line leaders at Athletic in the past, Steve Johnson and Vinnie Iannone spring to mind as two of prominence, and it is clear that we have unearthed another in Charncey Dash.

Tonight was his night, four goals and a star-studded performance. My notes are littered with reference to, Chancery Dash (Dashy) A Dashy shot, just wide, A clever Dashy back-heel, Dashys header flashes wide. In the 75 minutes he was on the pitch, he was involved in everything that was good about her team. Boy, must United have been pleased to see the back of him.

Of course football is a team game and every goal scorer is assisted. Dan Ferrignos through pass for Dashs second goal was a thing of beauty, Oran laid on goal number three and it was Dan again who, with a clever free kick, was the provider for the fourth goal.

Tonights game had similarities to last Saturdays. It took us a while to get going but once we clicked in to gear we were unstoppable and the goals flowed. 15 now in the last three games, this squad has goals written all over them. North Greenford were plucky opposition, and deserved their late consolation goal for their endeavours, but, in truth, they never threatened and Charlie Mann had a pretty quiet evening.

Frazer Johns injury was unfortunate and we hope he bounces back but it gave Oran Swales the chance to come on and to effect the game which he did with his usual trickery. He scored late on, two clever goals which resulted in a score line which will put the frighteners up some of our rivals.

So, a good day all around. We are back on our travels on Saturday when we go to Arlesey who are always a tough opposition, but we head the table by three points and confidence is high.
