Tring Athletic Reserves 1-0 Dunstable Town Reserves.

Playing down the slope for once we took the lead within 2 mins when a Luke Priestley goal kick was headed on by Scott Henderson and converted on the near post by a combination of Ollie Ruttle and their centre half and keeper.
From then on and for the next 15 mins it was once again an exercise in making and missing chances.

Ollie Ruttle failed to double his and our tally after 5 mins following an excellent one two between Gareth Terblanche and Joe Naylor who in turn missed 3 decent chances. We also had what looked like a good penalty shout turned down and it seemed only a question of time before a second goal would potentially lead to a comprehensive victory.

In fairness to Dunstable they recovered from this early blow to play some decent football especially in midfield but although they had a number of corners they failed to trouble our defence to any great extent.

The game went from end to end but lacked a bit of quality from ourselves on and off the ball.

At half time there was a reminder that if we are to make a realistic tilt at the Divisional title nothing less than 3 points would do and once we managed to keep our opponents in the game by failing to extend the lead . Playing down the slope Dunstable pushed us back but we defended well as a unit with full back Will Mullarchy outstanding.

On the plus side during the second half we were able to give valuable game time to 4 players of 18 and under and without being able to entirely relax we gained the necessary victory which took us to level top of the Division . Ironically one more goal would have given us the outright lead.

There then followed an excellent Curry Night to top of one our better days.
