On our longest trip of the season,180 miles there and back, we achieved our first win of the season which justified the effort put into the day by the entire 16 man squad.

With Connor Church in the No.10 role ably supported by defensive shield Ben Twelves and Carl Clay and with our front 3 of Tom Shaw,Ollie Ruttle and Ikeana Ejimfor working hard to press their back 4 we forced our opponents to play long and this relatively few problems to keeper Luke Midwinter and the back 4 of Paolo Bagattii,Colm Parrot,Les Barkers-Obua and Lewis Smith.

After 15 mins in which we'd started to impose ourselves we took the lead when a Tom Shaw corner was headed into his own net by their centre half under pressure and in the 28 min we doubled the lead when good work by Ikeana Ejimfor and Ollie Ruttle allowed Tom Shaw to pass the ball into the net.

Custodian Luke made one excellent save at this juncture from their only real chance and unlike in previous games this season we changed our shape and managed the game till the interval.

If Tonbridge Angels were to make a concerted effort to get back in the game ,the wind was knocked out of their sails within 5 mins when a left footed strike by the hard working Ollie Ruttle was parried to Tom Shaw who doubled his tally. Once again for 15 mins our ambitions were to contain and use of the exceptionally strong bench resulted in 2 more goals from Joshuah Hart and Les Barkers- Obua who rose like a very large salmon to head in on the far post.

Having had one possible penalty shout denied Tonbridge got a deserved consolation from the spot after a soft decision again Colm Parrot.

Next week we face existing Champions and unbeaten Corinthian Casuals at home which will be a proper test of this new team.
