Chris Juraszek wished to thank all those involved in setting this game up and especially Barry and Dave who sorted the goals out on the Top Field following some overnight damage and put them in place so that the match could proceed. Secondly lets get the excuses (reasons ) out the way - the Portakabins serve a purpose but squeezing 18 people into one of them and it's teeming down with rain outside does rather preclude putting over tactics etc BUT whilst Chris has had many mainly happy days helping navigate the good ship Tring Athletic Reserves in hopefully the right direction, he said that this was not one of them.
The first half was appalling. Long balls beating central defenders, full backs not working hard enough to stop crosses or supporting their teammates in possession. Defensive midfielders getting in front of the ball, forwards too far apart etc etc.
We eventually went behind on 30 mins when a 80 yard cross from their left back went over our left back, no defender went to help, and despite a goal keeping save the ball went into the back of the net from a subsequent keeping error. Score 0-1.
We went longer down the slope and won a few first and second balls and missed some decent chances before the whistle went and to my astonishment several players thought we'd been ok!!!

The introduction of various subs added a bit of verve and pace and we duly changed the game round with 2 strikes after 60 and 80 mins. Score 2-1. Fair play to Ryan Forbes who went in goal for the second period where he'd never played after James Catlin was called away to First Team duty on the bottom pitch.

The manager read the riot act post-match in so far as he demands more commitment from the players both on and off the field of play if this squad is to be progress in line with the Manager's aspirations".
