The most complete performance in quite some time resulted in a convincing victory in the Lea Cup 1st Rd. We now meet the winners of the Royston Town/ Dunstable Town fixture at home at a date tbc.

We were already missing Joe Smith,Frankie Hercules,Will Salmon,Harry Gutsell,Will Gibson, Euan Anderson and Alex Wilkinson and lost Tom Ainsworth on the morning of the game. Despite this we arrived with an acceptable squad of 14 and set about Premier League ,Flackwell Heath , with a will.
We maintained our 3 at the back but asked the front 2 of George House and Joe Naylor to play high and wide up the pitch to allow Will Foley to get on the ball in midfield. Behind him Teddie Paul and Connor Blake defended in front of the back 3 and allowed our 2 wide men especially Jack Sunderland to be a constant thorn in our opponents side.

We played some flowing pacy football and took the lead after 10 mins when an excellently delivered Gareth Terblanche free kick was headed in by the reborn George House. Joe Naylor then missed what was for him an easy chance before drawing a foul on the edge of the area which was duly despatched again by George House.

Flackwell Heath responded but from one outstanding last ditch tackle by Matt Stacey they rarely threatened and the game was effectively put to bed when Joe Naylor scored in the 35 th minute with a header after a corner routine from George House and Jack Sunderland.

A half time reminder that the only our attitude could cost us this fixture took a few minutes to register and our opponents played several decent long balls behind our defence which was stretched at times but their good work and that of custodian Luke Priestley slowly took the wind out of their sales and following excellent work down our left hand side resulted in a neat finish for his first senior Tring Ath goal from yet another of Cliff Hercules's U 18 team,Will Foley

George House completed his hat trick with 5 mins left to complete an excellent day and it was a happy squad who enjoyed the excellent hospitality at Flackwell Heath.
