On a windy afternoon with the pitch in excellent condition Tring Ath.Res maintained their recent good form with a 3 rd win and 1 draw in the last 4 games.

With no First team fixture the game presented an opportunity for Chris Mason ,Jack Read,Jack Seaton and new boy Steve Nott- McCarie to get valuable minutes together with 2 goal midfield dynamo George Carberry .
Playing into a strong wind and up the slope we made the worst possible start when not only did Jack "Sweet Touch" Sunderland twice beat himself and trip up but within 2 mins a cross cum shot flew with the strong breeze across custodian Luke Midwinter into the far corner. Trying to play long into the wind was failing miserably and within 10 mins we shortened our passing and started to work our way into the oppositions half. After 20 mins a well delivered corner was forced in at the far post by Jack Read. This turned the game and within 10 mins a Luke Midwinter clearance was allowed to bounce and George Carberry pounced to toe poke it past the on rushing keeper and across the line.
The longer the half went the more securely we looked. The back 4 ably supported by Carl Clay and James Shaw in a defensive midfield dealt with a series of long kicks from the Walton & Hersham keeper.

Having been reminded at the interval that the job was only half done we played longer and diagonally in behind their defence, our opponents,strangely resorted to long passes down the middle which were once again swallowed up by our defenders. Despite this it took us 25 mins to score a 3 rd with an own goal from another corner. This took the wind,literally and metaphorically , out of their sails and a 4 th goal and a second for George Carberry settled the game which we saw out by using our strong bench to " manage the game".
Ben Twelves unfortunately picked up an ankle injury in the warm up but James Butler played his first 90 mins in some time as part of a proper team performance.
