TAFC Development team 0-2 Corinthian
Although Corinthians were technically the better team a little smile from Lady Luck would not have gone amiss. All told Tring Ath. hit the woodwork 4 times inc twice at 0-0 but the 2 first half goals probably showed the difference between the sides. Having been pushed onto the back foot for the first 10 mins we as mentioned hit the woodwork and created some decent pressure with Jack Sunderland proving a handful.
Having caught our opponents offside, all be it unintentionally, from a short corner, the back 4 failed to follow basic instructions to get up the field from a second corner routine and this time Corinthians scored with a free header on the far post. Having recovered from this body blow we then overplayed on the edge of the area to surrender a second goal, again contrary to instructions.

Joe Naylor again hit the woodwork and we came in at 2-0 down. Playing downhill we were hopeful that we could work our way back into the game by playing diagonal passes in behind the Corinthian defenders. We huffed and puffed and by sheer effort managed to create and miss two easy chances. Our opponents played on the break but didn't create too many decent opportunities although deserving the victory.

Despite using all 5 subs and changing to a 4-4-2 shape we succumbed to our 4 th defeat in 5 games. It's hard to fault the effort and commitment of everyone involved and there was no lack of team spirit in the hope of getting a result next Saturday at Tonbridge Angels.
