League
Knaphill 3-2 TAFC Development team

TAFC goals: Joe Naylor, James Butler
Who'd be a Manager? After an hour and 40 minute journey the Tring Ath.Convoy arrived at Knaphill for their first away League of the season. On a wide pitch which was in immaculate condition we started brightly and after 10 mins Joe Naylor took a touch ,cut inside the area and scored with a strike which maybe the keeper have done better with. Within 5 mins skipper James Butler rose to powerfully head home a well delivered James Shaw corner. Their keeper then made amends with a superb save from the Silent Assasin and we also had a couple of further headers from set pieces. Knaphill huffed and puffed but without really creating very much to bother debutant stopper Tom Callendar. The first period finished with Ollie Ruttle missing a one on one which as it turned out changed the game.

HT: Knaphill ) Tring Athletic 2

As expected Knaphill came at us and slowly but surely they pushed us back.We got too stretched and failed to defend from the front or put in any significant tackles in midfield. After 15 mins Knaphill somehow not only managed to work the ball from right to left through some more non challenges but eventually scored when their wide man was unmarked. We were failing to create much but it has to be said that both their last goals were down to individual errors. The first after a ball over the top and the second from our poorly struck free kick.

We made a number of positional and personnel changes and created a couple of decent chances which their keeper was unfortunately up to and we finished pointless. Fair play to our opponents for their never say die attitude but that's two weeks running we have failed to deliver.
