Sad News - Randy Merlino (posted Sat 25th May 2013)
It is with great sadness that we announce that Randy has sadly passed away and our thoughts are with his wife, Elaine and children Claire and Stuart. Randy and Elaine were active Committee Members whilst the Club operated from Miswell Lane and Randy even got involved in the head tennis competitions on summer training nights. Randy had had a heart operation last year to replace an aortic valve, he was doing really well but died suddenly on Sunday (19th)from a heart attack. Randy had his operation at Harefield Hospital and anyone wishing to make a donation can use the following link

Help Needed (posted Thu 23rd May 2013)
The pre season period allows the club a small window of time to undertake all the repair and maintenance jobs around the club evolving mainly around painting and cleaning. We intend to have weekly work party on a Wednesday evening between say 5pm and 8pm when all materials will be provided just labour needed so if you are free please come along and offer your services. If you have any queries please contact either Mick Eldridge or Barry Simmons.

Management Team Addition (posted Thu 23rd May 2013)
We are pleased to welcome Chris Juraszek who will join Colin Phillips and Stuart Stedman in running our Reserve Team. Chris has a wealth of experience starting his career with West Ham Schoolboys and played Isthmian League football. He has managed and coached a number of SSML sides including Brache Sparta, Ampthill, Crawley Green and more recently been with Barton Rovers and London Colney.

Trial Match - Saturday 29th June (posted Wed 22nd May 2013)
The Club is to hold a Trial session on the Astroturf Pitch at RAF Halton, Nuffield Pavilion, HP22 5PG commencing at 3pm on Saturday 29th June, the club is looking add experienced and committed players to its First Team squad but welcomes players of all abilities to attend. The club runs four senior teams, with its First Team in the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League, Reserves in the Suburban Football League and the “A” and “B” teams in the West Herts League.
Please bring own training kit, suitable footwear and a drink or water bottle. Any queries and a brief outline of playing experience should be emailed to tringathleticfc@hotmail.com where we will confirm and acknowledge your details and answer any questions that you may have.
PRE SEASON TRAINING - starts on Thursday 27th June meeting at 7pm for a 7:15pm start at the Club and again newcomers are very welcome and should email the Club and we will clarify any issues that you may have.

Bowls Champions (posted Sun 19th May 2013)
The Annual Bowls competition between the Pendley sports clubs i.e. Rugby, Squash and Football Clubs saw the Athletic team win the trophy for the 7th time in the last 10 years. A fun afternoon with non-bowlers participating and Vice Chairman, Barry Simmons, captained the team that included Committee Members Mick Eldridge, Richard Vincent and Paul Humphreys with partner Sue Williamson, former linesman Pete Stilwell and supporters Rob Duling, Clive Goodall, Mick Smith and Wayne Adams.

Presentation Awards 2012-2103 (posted Sat 18th May 2013)
The Club held its Presentation Evening on Friday evening with a good turnout of players and supporters. The awards were as follows:- First Team: Player's Player - Chris Salmon, Manager's Player - Mike Underwood and Supporter's Player - Mike Underwood; Reserve Team: Player's Player - Ollie Butler, Manager's Player - Stuart Stedman; "A" Team: Player's Player - James Livingstone, Manager's Player - Glenn Sizer; "B" Team: Player's Player - Dave Allen, Manager's Player - Richard Williams; Youth Team: Player's Player - Sam Shearman and Player's Player - Lewis Cox.
Clubman of the Year went to Trevor Langley who in addition to being the First Team Sports Therapist is Registration Secretary, Youth Protection Officer and Health & Safety Officer undertaking many hours work behind the scenes which this award acknowledges.
Robbie Duncan joined the 300 Club having achieved 335 appearances by end the season evidencing great loyalty to the Club.
Small presentations were made to our Groundsman - Darrell Bodimeade for an excellent playing surface once again, Kit Lady - Dee Wells who does a terrific job with six kits every weekend, Colin Sturges of Okewood Imagery for his excellent photographs and control of our website and Gill Eldridge and Sandra Foskett for making the players sandwiches each week.
Pre-season training commences on Thursday 27th June and all existing and new are welcome to attend. A number of friendly fixtures have already been arranged and these are shown on our website.

Congratulations on New Born (posted Wed 15th May 2013)
Many congratulations to First Team player, Andy Humphreys (478 club appearances) and his wife Lorraine on the birth of their baby daughter, Ellie Grace, who was so keen to come into this world was born on Monday 13th May, just 10 minutes after arriving at hospital. Ellie weighed in at 6lb 8ozs and the mid-wife assisting with the delivery was Lorraine's close friend, Laura Brimson.

Charity Shield Draw 2013-14 (posted Wed 15th May 2013)
The draw for next seasons competition has taken place and we will be playing Codicote at The Grass Roots Stadium on Tuesday 6th August kick off 7:45pm. The winners will then be at home in the next round when they will meet either Oxhey Jets or St Margaretsbury.

TAFC Golf Tour Result (posted Tue 14th May 2013)
The annual trip to Spain for 5 hard days and nights playing golf saw Ian Butler pip Mark Boniface on the last day to take this years trophy. Last years winner, Phil Casserley, went from hero to zero coming in 8th place. Other club members taking part were Mick Eldridge, T Rice, Alan Gray, Keith Butler and Dave Stacey.

Cup Final win for the A team (posted Thu 2nd May 2013)
A Glen Sizer goal 15 minutes from the end of the Peace Memorial Cup Final, held at Hemel Hempstead's ground, saw the "A"s defeat Hemel Rovers by a 1-0 score line. Congratulations to all the players and Managers Dave Adamson and James Bevan on an excellent result.

Annual TAFC Golf Day - Friday 19th July (posted Mon 8th Apr 2013)
The Ged Keough Memorial TAFC Annual Golf Day will be held at Mentmore Golf & Country Club on Friday 19th July 2013 and include 27 holes of golf. The day will comprise of Coffee or tea on arrival, 9 holes Texas Scramble on the Rothschild course, followed by lunch and then 18 holes on the Rosebery rounding off with a two course meal and coffee plus prize giving. Buggies are available for hire from Mentmore G&C Club if you do not feel that you wish to walk all 27 holes. Tickets are £67 or £30 for Mentmore Club members and if you can only make the afternoon round it will cost £50 to include the evening meal.Contact Mick Eldridge for further information or to express your interest in playing or add your name to the list on the Club noticeboard.
