We are having another work party to spruce up the ground prior to the new season so anyone who can help and spare just a few hours would be welcomed to join committee members this Saturday 31st July between 9am and midday.
Tony Fields climbs Mount Kilimanjaro this week (posted Tue 27th Jul 2010)
Congratulations to Tony Fields who successfully conquered Mount Kilimanjaro last weekend and is now back in the UK. Tony has raised over £2,200 for The Princes Trust and you can still sponsor him via the link below or make a cash donation at the club.
SSMFL Cup Draws (posted Mon 26th Jul 2010)
In the SSMFL Challenge Trophy 1st round we have been drawn away to Winslow United who have returned to the league after a 12 month absence and the winners will play at home in the second round to either Hanwell Town or Amersham Town. In the Premier Division Cup we have been given a difficult away fixture against Harefield United and the winners of this tie will play at home to either Hanwell Town or Hillingdon Borough. Dates for these fixtures will be advised in due course.
Three Counties Radio (posted Sat 24th Jul 2010)
BBC Three Counties Radio will be running regular features during their midweek and Saturday sports broadcasts on local sport. A report of our friendly win at AFC Dunstable was featured on Saturday 24 July and there should be regular reports throughout the season. So tune in after each games to hear our reports. August fixtues (posted Sun 18th Jul 2010)
Athletic kick off the season with the same opponants as last year when we host Kentish Town on 7th August. This is followed on Tuesday 10th with a local derby at the Gass Roots Stadium against Aylesbury United. We will then travel to Hanwell Town (Tuesday 17th) and Biggleswade United (Sat 21st) both host 2 further local opponants. Leverstock Green visit on Tuesday 24th before Holmer Green come to Tring on Tuesday 31st.
Herts Charity Shield 2010/11 (posted Tue 13th Jul 2010)
Tring Athletic have been drawn away at Harpenden in the first round of the Herts Charity Shield. The tie has now been arranged for Tuesday 3rd August with a 7.45pm kick off.
FA Cup draw (posted Thu 8th Jul 2010)
Athletic will face Enfield 1893 at home in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup on 14th August. Winners of this will be at home to AFC Hayes on 28th August before a trip to Wealdstone in the First Qualifying Round on 11th September. Enfield 1893 play in the Essex Senior League and recently merged with former SSML Brimsdown Rovers with the combined club playing at Brimsdown's Goldsdown Ground
FA Vase draw (posted Thu 8th Jul 2010)
Athletic have made it through the first two rounds of the FA Vase already before a ball is kicked. In the First Round we face a trip to either St Margaretsbury, Oxhey Jets, Tokyngton Manor or Haringey Borough. The game will be played on 4th October.
Annual General Meeting (posted Thu 8th Jul 2010)
This will be held commencing at 8pm on Thursday 30th September and any Members who have any proposals with regard to a change to our rules or constitution must place their request in writing to the Hon Secretary, Bob Winter, 6 weeks prior to this date for such changes to be considered. All members and supporters are invited to attend and we are always looking for additional help. If you wish to join the Committee or help on match days please contact a member of the Committee or send an email to tringathleticfc@hotmail.com.
TAFC/Ged Keough Annual Golf Day - Thursday 26th August (posted Sun 4th Jul 2010)
27 holes on the two championship courses at Mentmore Golf & Country Club with coffee, lunch and 3 course evening meal with presentations. Texas scramble 9 holes in the morning followed by the main competition. Players of all levels welcome. Entry fee is £65 with a £30 deposit to be paid at least 14 days prior to the event. Suburban League Challenge Cup Draw (posted Sat 3rd Jul 2010)
Our Reserves have been at home to Molesey in the 1st round of the League Challenge Cup with this match to be completed before Saturday 25th September. The winners will have a home match against Hemel Hempstead.
