Congratulations to John Elliott - Oxhey Jets (posted Sat 15th Jun 2013)
Everyone at Tring Athletic sends John Elliott their congratulations on the award of the British Empire Medal in the Queens 2013 Birthday Honours List announced today. John received the award of a BEM "for services to young people and the community in South Oxhey". John formed Oxhey Jets Football Club in 1972 and has been the driving force of the Club for over 40 years and thoroughly deserves this award.

We are considering entering a Pool Team in the Berkhamsted Pool League for the season that starts in September and plays on Monday Nights against local pubs and sports clubs. Food Hygiene is 5 Star (posted Sun 2nd Jun 2013)
A recent inspection by the Environmental Health Officer has resulted in the Club being Awarded a 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating recognising that we have good food handling practices in place, that cleanliness, repair, layout and pest proofing is good and that our compliance records and documented food safety management systems are good, scoring us maximise ratings in all three areas of the assessment.

B Team Management Changes (posted Mon 27th May 2013)
Bobby Fryer, who has managed the “B” Team for several years, has stood down from running the team and the Club is pleased to announce that Phil Monaghan has accepted the invitation to run the team and he will be assisted by Steve Alford. Both have played for the Club for several years and Steve has experience of running two Ladies teams in London whilst he also has his Level 2 Coaching Badge. We have a number of younger players wishing to join the Club next season and Brian Cox, who has been running our Youth team, and Greg Cox who has been running Tring Tornadoes Under 16 team have indicated that they are willing to help to integrate the younger boys into the senior sides.

Help Needed (posted Thu 23rd May 2013)
The pre season period allows the club a small window of time to undertake all the repair and maintenance jobs around the club evolving mainly around painting and cleaning. We intend to have weekly work party on a Wednesday evening between say 5pm and 8pm when all materials will be provided just labour needed so if you are free please come along and offer your services. If you have any queries please contact either Mick Eldridge or Barry Simmons.

Management Team Addition (posted Thu 23rd May 2013)
We are pleased to welcome Chris Juraszek who will join Colin Phillips and Stuart Stedman in running our Reserve Team. Chris has a wealth of experience starting his career with West Ham Schoolboys and played Isthmian League football. He has managed and coached a number of SSML sides including Brache Sparta, Ampthill, Crawley Green and more recently been with Barton Rovers and London Colney.

Hemel Rovers 0-1 TAFC A goal from Glen Sizer 15 minutes from the end won the cup for Tring Athletic "A" team. Fantastic end of the season for the team congratulations to all the players and Managers Dave Adamson and James Bevan. (Full report to follow)

Thu 27th Jun 2013 - Pre Season Training Starts
Preparation for the new season starts on Thursday 27th June at 7pm at The Grass Roots Stadium and new and existing players are invited to attend. Training will then continue on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. |
Sat 29th Jun 2013 - Trial Match - 29th June
The Club is to hold a Trial session on the Astroturf Pitch at RAF Halton, Nuffield Pavilion, HP22 5PG commencing at 3pm on Saturday 29th June, the club is looking add experienced and committed players to its First Team squad but welcomes players of all abilities to attend. The club runs four senior teams, with its First Team in the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League, Reserves in the Suburban Football League and the “A” and “B” teams in the West Herts League.
Please bring own training kit, suitable footwear and a drink or water bottle. Any queries and a brief outline of playing experience should be emailed to tringathleticfc@hotmail.com where we will confirm and acknowledge your details and answer any questions that you may have.

Fri 19th Jul 2013 - TAFC Annual Golf Day
This will be held at Mentmore Golf & Country Club on Friday 19th July 2013 and will comprise of Coffee or tea on arrival, 9 holes Texas Scramble on the Rothschild course, followed by lunch and then 18 holes on the Rosebery rounding off with a two course meal and coffee plus prize giving.
